Probably the most literate of my friends, Steve actually finished his post-secondary education, graduating from Simon Fraser University as an English major. Following in the footsteps of most others of his ilk, he now works part-time (at a book store!) and devotes the rest of his life to art, romance, philosophy, and other, less easily euphemized, varieties of slacking off. In this I find him quite a kindred spirit, although I never did graduate myself.
Let the alliteration begin! Actually, pretty much all of this poem's alliteration is in the title, but its charm is to be found throughout. Mr. Bell's Valentine's Day poem was unfairly rejected by Hallmark (not to mention his girlfriend), so he has kindly given me permission to display it at Endymion and Icarus so that aspiring romantics worldwide may make use of it this February. I hope it serves you better than it did him.
More honeyed lines from Steve's everflowing font. This one contains wisdom that we would all do well to apply to our lives. I certainly do. I'm not sure if Steve intended the tercet for publication; I found the lines appended to an email message he sent me on a different subject. Well, too late now!
