What Smells at the SPIKE! Cup?

The STENCH!! A Skaven team that emerged from the bowels of the world to win the SPIKE! MAGAZINE trophy XXI. Talent displayed itself early with convincing wins over the Eataine Excelsiors and Chaos. The team really emerged in the next match against the Zharr Naggrund Slave Drivers with the addition of a second rat ogre and future star gutter runner Shadow, the fastest player in Blood Bowl. The match also saw the blossoming of Rocky, a rat who knows how to find a sensitive area of an opponent, especially when he's on the ground. This team continued to win during league play and was backed by a large and growing following… er… pack. There always seemed to be an unnatural healthiness to the team, along with several mutations… er… late blooming players.

The SPIKE! tournament took the top five teams from league play. The Stench were powered by the mighty storm vermin Skeek and Stitch, and four rat ogres (what are they feeding these rats??). The Stench met their rival Eataine High Elves in the quarter finals in a bizarre game in which almost all the High Elves were taken off the pitch in the first half. Miraculously, they returned to play the second half, only to be pummelled by the fearsome front line again. The Skaven team recorded an amazing thirteen casualties during the match (some players being knocked out twice!). The Stench won 4-0 and the High Elves barely even stepped on the Skaven side of the pitch. Many calls of foul play and bribery followed this game. The Stench went on to beat the Slave Drivers 2-0 in an anticlimactic final. Sneaky rodent Rocky raised (or lowered, depending on your point of view) his game, inflicting thirteen casualties in the final two games.

After the team's ease of winning the SPIKE! MAGAZINE trophy and several allegations of shady dealing and genetic experiments by team owner Weasel Tithnik, the Stench have been put under investigation and prohibited from league play. The Stench will still be allowed to play special matches, but who would want to play them!
